Christmas are so close, and I'm planning next year 2017 earlier than usual. Learning from one of the best "makers"-https://www.youtube.com/jimmydiresta - I decided to make a list of projects that I'll keep at the entrance to my woodshop. Projects to be done, whether it's for personal use or a commision, will end up on the wall. I hope, in year 2017 a lot of these projects will be marked as completed.
PS. There is no artist bright future for me ;)

I don't know if this is good way to transfer templates, but it works for me. Stand/rack for mortice chisels is slowly being shaped. What's left is: marking width of each chisel, and then the hanging system to enable hang it on my tool wall.

Today I gave a try in carving. Inspired by szczepansnycerz.pl, I decided to take up the challenge. The fact that Santa left some Kirschen chisels just encouraged me to act. And there was the reason I decided to start with the letter B :)
It came out resonably fine, though there is room for improvement. Of course a lot more leaqrning and gaining experience ahead of me. I didn't expect, however, that it will be so nice, relaxing and creative activity.

Over last couple of weeks I was queit. That's because got a ill and then I had vacation. On the trip, I had the opportunity to find out how cork is produced. As I was in Portugal I had a chance to see thousands of trees with no bark. Turns out this is cork oak and his bark is later used as a cork we know.
Bark can remove every 7-10 years. From one tree you can harvest bark up to 12 times. Driving accross Portugal, I had the chance to see hundreds of cork oak forests where most of the trees were ... ...
